   No New York es un álbun compilativo producido por el mismísimo Brian Eno, que consta de temas de The Contortions, Teenage Jesus & The Jerks, Mars y DNA. Si bien es cierto que en esta compilación sólo participan cuatro bandas, este álbum es considerado por muchos como el disco definitivo que documenta el movimiento No Wave de fines de los '70 en New York City.

I Was a Teenage Terrorist

   "Yo siempre supe que haría algo ... horrible. Mi poesía adolescente estuvo llena de la rabia amarga. Tomos atroces que celebran parricidio, matricidio y asesinato. Mi primera performance, a los 14, fue en la sala de estar de alguien en Upstate New York. Me invitaron a leer en una fiesta de Acid lanzada por músicos a entradas de Buffalo. Arreglé alguna excusa para aplacar a mis padres, salté sobre el autobús con un bolso lleno de cuadernos y fuí recogida en el Greyhound Station por un guitarrista que esperaba organizar una versión suburbana de la Factory de Warhol. La fiesta estaba en llena de swing. Luces psicodélicas bañaron el cuarto de púrpura, rosado y azul. Alguien enchufó una guitarra. Rejilla, zumbidos repetitivos rizando en regeneración. Alguien más comenzó un embotado enorme sobre los tambores. Agarré el micrófono y comencé a maullar poemas de mis cuadernos andrajosos. Algo sobre matar a tus padres. Era 1973. La terrorista adolecente había sido liberada."
